Rebecca Porter received her BM from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota in 2019. She is currently a band director at Simle Middle School here in Bismarck, North Dakota, but began her teaching career in Fertile, MN as a K-12 Music teacher and later Valley City High School as the 6-12 Band Director. Her passion for student inclusion in the arts, background in rural teaching, and desire to continually improve the band legacy in North Dakota lead her to the opportunity to serve as a Member at Large for the North Dakota National Band Association, and later moved into the NDBDA WebMaster and President-Elect positions. She has been a member of NAfME since 2018, a member of Minnesota’s Band Director’s Association since 2019, and NDBDA since 2021.
